A Better "Orgasm": Face Aterlier Ultra Blush - Peach Glaze

My hubby still finds it really odd that Nars would name their blush "Orgasm", but name aside, I always really liked the peachy-pink shade of Orgasm but found it too sparkly/shimmery for me. Alas, I found something similarly shaded but less shimmery!

Face Atelier is a Canadian brand which I've written about lots; mostly I love their foundations for the amazing skin-like finish.

They also make blushes of course, called "ultra blush". These are very simply packaged (not good for those of you who adore packaging), but amazingly blendable. The pigmentation level is medium, so is easier to use and allows some building up before going clown-y.

I've previously reviewed the shade on the right, "Tangerine".  The new shade I picked up, "Peach Glaze", is a peachy-pink with fine shimmer, but not overly done.

Here it is next to Nars "Orgasm" in the pan.

You can see that it leans more peach than pink, but the difference is not notable on the cheeks.

Swatched side by side, you can see how Peach Glaze is still a shimmery blush, but has slightly less shimmer particles compared to "Orgasm" on the far left. "Tangerine" is obviously a matte blush.

Overall, I'm loving it! Perfect summer glowy blush without too much shimmer. What do you think? Are you a fan of the infamous "Orgasm", or have you also found other, and better options?

  1. Peach Glaze is a beautiful shade!
I had shunned NARS Orgasm for years then finally caved in and bought one. There maybe better peachy pink blushes out there for each individuals, but I still praise Orgasm for its unparalleled uniqueness. It gives me a youthful glow that I much enjoy. :)

    1. Haha what was the reason behind shunning it for so long? It's interesting how products translate differently in different skin. On me I get an artificial glow rather than a youthful glow. There's that "super" Orgasm shade too right? Definitely won't be for me hehe.

  2. I wasn't a fan of the Nars orgasm either. Good that I only got a deluxe sample sized one and tried it out and see what the hype is all about. Too shimmery.

    1. Try the FA one you may like it! Unless you're a matte blush girl, then even that may be too shimmery

  3. I'm not a big big fan of Orgasm, because I doesn't show up that well on my skin. Weird, because it's quite light (maybe around NC20-25 these days). I also find it a bit too sparkly for my taste. The Face Atelier dupe actually looks better to me!

    1. Yea the sparkles kill it. I have a friend with quite dark skin and it looks gorgeous on her, but yea on my light skin too shimmery. The FA blush is amazing, try it out!

    1. It is still a bit shimmery, just less than the Nars! If you like matte blushes try the Tangerine it's a beautiful shade!

  5. This looks really nice! I never got on with orgasm cause of the shimmer either, ended up giving mine away! Of course I'm still stuck with it as Nars includes it in all their multi-palettes lol!! xx

  6. you know what, i'm not so convinced that Orgasm looks that good on me? i've tried similar shades which i like but for whatever reason, i won't reach for my 'copy' of orgasm. i like WetnWild's pearlescent peach.

    1. Ooh I've never seen that one, will try to have a look next time I'm in store :) that "orgasm" shade really isn't "universal" like they claim.
