<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the last empties post from my stash and non-blogging period from the past year! If you have been reading this far... thanks, I appreciate you staying with me!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Clinique moisture surge intense</b>. Best winter moisturizer ever. Seriously, I went through all of the harsh Toronto winter with NO dry patches. That has never happened before. I will repurchase and you should too if you have dry skin! Make sure to get the "intense" version, because I tried the other one and it was drying on me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4pTK34GfNZJQvOpKNmiuAS5XH52bdluK-OKjGwm1lNmQOg4jyxYG89FxQuWPk8843-e61ofEB2vOahr0U9FrqLTMS1856cRP2dANK_zR9cH0XiWkI3vXQ_Y9eFv2wEWyH7Rxt-J9KS2I/s1600/DSC_0051.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4pTK34GfNZJQvOpKNmiuAS5XH52bdluK-OKjGwm1lNmQOg4jyxYG89FxQuWPk8843-e61ofEB2vOahr0U9FrqLTMS1856cRP2dANK_zR9cH0XiWkI3vXQ_Y9eFv2wEWyH7Rxt-J9KS2I/s320/DSC_0051.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Face Atelier lip putty.</b> I liked this product as a primer under pigmented lipsticks, as it sheered out the pigment a bit and prevented it from settling in my lines (I have a lot of deep wrinkles on my lips). Didn't work that well as a lip balm though. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Perricone No Foundation Foundation Serum. </b>This was a deluxe sample. Despite its sheerness, it was way too dark for me and I needed to blend it with a white sunscreen (Shiseido blue) to make it work. It worked well though and evened out my complexion nicely without making it look like makeup. I just wish they made a lighter shade of it so I don't have to mix it every morning.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZILqVUF3EOkD2lzUcOHI5BLlTuuXSnG10JZgVYcEsmNDm4FNgSGSiZ_Dp9xXuYhaHzDcA0O2rjPYAEFPqOFiq_MWdwwrRZ-pGagk3sI6XnvXDwyVzsMrYaeWVM-qzBpb7Onm9D463Cp4/s1600/DSC_0052.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZILqVUF3EOkD2lzUcOHI5BLlTuuXSnG10JZgVYcEsmNDm4FNgSGSiZ_Dp9xXuYhaHzDcA0O2rjPYAEFPqOFiq_MWdwwrRZ-pGagk3sI6XnvXDwyVzsMrYaeWVM-qzBpb7Onm9D463Cp4/s320/DSC_0052.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Fresh Sugar Lip Polish</b>. This is actually a deluxe sample that just took me forever to use up. I really like it though! It smoothed out the small flakes and left lips feeling moisturized and ready for lipstick!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Lancome eyeliner (LE). </b>This was a seasonal one and I don't recall the exact name. I'm chucking it because of what you see in the photo below. The product has weirdly shrunk inside the pencil/wood! I'm guessing it dried out (which is odd for a pencil, I thought drying out was only an issue for gel liners!). When this product was fresh, it was inky and lovely, the pigmentation of a gel liner. It had been getting flakey and dry for awhile despite me sharpening it lots. So now I see that it's just dried out. I won't be purchasing any other Lancome pencil liners due to this.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_vCAs-3bxxQs_hFoQC0U8HrPMjc_IqL3tZUA082Ypxew6xMWfDCPpD9Yq6LgETnVod_jNOm9bn1-YFYGTMOkYojt1Yid5KpfH4BaccoPtCqpo-3fc5Cl7ESo51-RwDYfGKS1isgUzNDM/s1600/DSC_0053.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_vCAs-3bxxQs_hFoQC0U8HrPMjc_IqL3tZUA082Ypxew6xMWfDCPpD9Yq6LgETnVod_jNOm9bn1-YFYGTMOkYojt1Yid5KpfH4BaccoPtCqpo-3fc5Cl7ESo51-RwDYfGKS1isgUzNDM/s320/DSC_0053.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ok I made it through the past year of empties! Phew. It really does feel good to have finished and rid these products. Some of them got repurchased of course, so they will show up again in another empties post down the road :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm not sure how often I will blog this summer. I have been trying lots of new products but not many truly excite me these days. It's nice to try new products, but after awhile they all become somewhat similar. I've been recently pondering how much I spend on beauty products as well (I'm embarrassed at the amount), and how much I stress-shop. I will be doing some self-examination over the next little while and working on other stress-relief ways, such as yoga and mindfulness meditation. Will see how it goes :)</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's another empties post! The "Recent Empties" series is from the past year, so there's quite a bit and it honestly feels good to have used up (or decluttered) so many products! More room to buy more right... (noooo...)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUsZADNSF0uPvisg9xGEZun8lA4RapsKGBwIXk1iC49_8Dw7XfeJP4zKAcC9fRDUmumTQAwHvhgx8zKAG8UOfMSVS7KzK17d0GcnKcbWBZJQXctGM_Eu3UuqWlFuMoMuGOIvcvmvvBDwI/s1600/DSC_0033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUsZADNSF0uPvisg9xGEZun8lA4RapsKGBwIXk1iC49_8Dw7XfeJP4zKAcC9fRDUmumTQAwHvhgx8zKAG8UOfMSVS7KzK17d0GcnKcbWBZJQXctGM_Eu3UuqWlFuMoMuGOIvcvmvvBDwI/s320/DSC_0033.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Velour white eyelash glue</b>. This was even worse than the black one!! It was white, named "white", and dried white...not clear! I somehow expected "white" to mean clear, because glues usually come in clear or black, but white?!?! In addition to the usual black band of the falsies, it added a white band...what da heck was the point?! I'm just angry I wasted money. Just stick with Duo. Velour makes beautiful falsies but terrible glue.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Tom Ford Oud Wood shower gel </b>(originally reviewed <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2016/04/tom-ford-oud-wood-shower-gel-review.html" target="_blank">here</a>). It was just an overpriced shower gel, I don't recommend it unless you are in completely in love with the scent, and I wasn't so in love with it to want to shell out $77 CAD again (and TF since then increased the price! Most recent price on Sephora is $87 >.<). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeYUmw9WtyrtwoyZenHOV67GY7r91IBtSOxdsQ5PTSdNnOBx1PBusqi0HfOIPASiRgNILZWnOYU8YQyF8BUJnPuU9OGhVnOAo9VU3ahWHzHL-YrkSYaej3AS7ASYIynO4q3LLKGE_3_2A/s1600/DSC_0034.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeYUmw9WtyrtwoyZenHOV67GY7r91IBtSOxdsQ5PTSdNnOBx1PBusqi0HfOIPASiRgNILZWnOYU8YQyF8BUJnPuU9OGhVnOAo9VU3ahWHzHL-YrkSYaej3AS7ASYIynO4q3LLKGE_3_2A/s320/DSC_0034.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Shu Uemura cleansing oil shampoo.</b> This one I highly recommend and will repurchase after I finish off some of my other shampoo bottles. It didn't strip my hair, and I could do with or without conditioner after, which has never happened with any other shampoo as my hair is fine and dry and tangles easily. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Belvada nail polish remover</b>. This was great, didn't try out my nails at all. I just can't find it anymore! :( If anyone knows where I can buy it please tell me! I used to buy it from ftbbeauty but it's always out of stock there now. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it for now, I have one more in a couple of days!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another batch from the past year :) In this one I decluttered a bunch of lippies I was not loving. I admit, I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to makeup. Even if I was not using or loving it, I keep thinking I will use it one day (I will like it again, or will use it for swatching purposes etc.). I suppose this is some self-improvement moving on now!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Not too much exciting products in this batch, but a couple of highlights...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6LQ7oDshWQMbrWMqgFFEYY9KzGMShl8qFLoA0ZdSeG5xpGzOuunkKGWkqZdOpZLzlXlnz_aPoAglIxRFrIriA2loHyyeXRY60_f-PZe-rHhYE4EZAguHRHoIzZskLWEcD_cHNxBUI-4s/s1600/DSC_0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6LQ7oDshWQMbrWMqgFFEYY9KzGMShl8qFLoA0ZdSeG5xpGzOuunkKGWkqZdOpZLzlXlnz_aPoAglIxRFrIriA2loHyyeXRY60_f-PZe-rHhYE4EZAguHRHoIzZskLWEcD_cHNxBUI-4s/s320/DSC_0013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Shu Umera Cleansing Oil Conditioner</b>. For its price, it should have been amazing, but it sadly wasn't... won't be repurchased. If you have lots of money feel free to try and see if you like it as it does have good reviews. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Shiseido Ibuki SPF 15 Emulsion</b>. I really liked this and went through two bottles and bought one for my mom. It's a runny texture but soaks into the skin nicely, leaves a bit of a sheen so may not be great if you have oily skin. My skin used to be combination but now is just dry dry dry, this is good for me :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA5aYbhUk3XunkCr0Hau2pIR1fmMoQ3_STzAtNmTJDMX69YzkiKvNh38Ei3-0xqw3PqQ5gIN1FhnsMy5OAnJhzqY1ICGW6yij1y5O47Wk8K1EBNR552jkTzieVpp63sdnYh9sed1Pmz2o/s1600/DSC_0014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA5aYbhUk3XunkCr0Hau2pIR1fmMoQ3_STzAtNmTJDMX69YzkiKvNh38Ei3-0xqw3PqQ5gIN1FhnsMy5OAnJhzqY1ICGW6yij1y5O47Wk8K1EBNR552jkTzieVpp63sdnYh9sed1Pmz2o/s320/DSC_0014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have finished my last <b>IOPE cushion refill</b>! I really liked this product and used it almost daily for a long time. Despite it being great, I think I'm ready to move on just out of boredom and wanting to try other things. I may come back to it later, and thus would recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it yet! It's glowy though so be only for those who like that.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>Benefit They're Real mascara</b> is one of my favorite mascaras. I have gone through a full size tube and this is a deluxe sample (I have many of these from Sephora, yay!). It holds curl and doesn't smudge on my bulgy asian lids :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's it for now, until the next batch :)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
It's been a long time since I've written a post! Work has been very busy, and I had returned to school. I'm finally on summer break, and it feels good to write again. I know it's just cosmetics, but I find it de-stressing to review :) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've stopped photographing a lot of new products I have been using, somehow haven't felt that excited to share. I have however maintained my photographing of empties, so have almost a years worth to share! This is the first batch... I will share some brief thoughts about the products that stand out, good or not (if I don't mention it then it means it was "meh" either way). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZlS7RWe1wgUzdtkVE7ByizB3EklW28EoHwfnBxWNwNG5B9THC_x9a_diJZvPBObJmUa6h8WbAkcldw3nim0QWhbXVgFX6qxaAyqkgWgoNKPf_6DUBmmXX7fl_TWOAX_SGEtrZFm8pbI/s1600/DSC_0002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSZlS7RWe1wgUzdtkVE7ByizB3EklW28EoHwfnBxWNwNG5B9THC_x9a_diJZvPBObJmUa6h8WbAkcldw3nim0QWhbXVgFX6qxaAyqkgWgoNKPf_6DUBmmXX7fl_TWOAX_SGEtrZFm8pbI/s320/DSC_0002.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <b>Murad vitamin C daily moisturizer</b> was really good! Not too oily-looking, though wasn't quite enough for the tough winter months...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The<b> Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water</b>... feels amaaaazing, and though very expensive, feels better on my skin than Bioderma. Too bad it's all out of stock for the Sephora sale :(</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The two Benefit products were complete duds...I'm glad they were only deluxe samples and I didn't shell out money for them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <b>Velour eyelash glue</b> was also a complete dud (I posted awhile back <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2015/09/eyelash-glue-explosion.html" target="_blank">about it exploding</a>). I have tried to use it a few times after and it just performs poorly. I do not recommend!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <b>Balm Apples Cheek & Lip cream</b> was not good for the lips but awesome on the cheeks! It blended out so nicely with a duo-fibre brush (though less good with fingers for some reason). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>MUFE mascara</b>, great balance between length and volume and held curl for me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The <b>Freshstart dry shampoo</b> was useless except for infusing its perfumey smell to my hair. It didn't rid the oil at all and somehow made my hair look more more limp. I don't recommend at all!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh <b>YSL Tint-in-Oil</b>... I had so much high hopes for you I bought 3...It was so slippery and watery and an awful taste kept seeping into my mouth (despite being very careful not to apply it too close to the inner part of my lips). It looks ok only, not worth the gross taste. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<b>Lancome Bi-Facil</b>, hands down best remover. Have gone through many bottles.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Dr. Dennis Gross daily peel.</b> This was a deluxe sample, and even though it was the gentle version it still stung. My face is just too sensitive for any peels or acids I think. It's got great reviews though so if you're not sensitive give it a try!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it for now, I got a couple of other batches to post soon... :)</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's right, I've never bought any MAC products up until now... crazy right? I mostly buy makeup from Sephora and department stores, and never ventured into MAC stores. Since The Bay now carries MAC, and recently had some items on 30% off, I thought this was a good time to check things out!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4CIro1Sl1tAk-t0zgk-GHnyjrQdE26uIWAhyvctgZfAE3ko7v4jNzCXthPbQxLXX1raYSPqz5UCLOjoKHrsolwVtiiMuRD-LI6A-sYKHFY3DWFiycrvcW1yceTbAHykkkhDAQ0jzcDI/s1600/DSC_0117.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI4CIro1Sl1tAk-t0zgk-GHnyjrQdE26uIWAhyvctgZfAE3ko7v4jNzCXthPbQxLXX1raYSPqz5UCLOjoKHrsolwVtiiMuRD-LI6A-sYKHFY3DWFiycrvcW1yceTbAHykkkhDAQ0jzcDI/s320/DSC_0117.JPG" width="212" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Had to go for a lipstick right :) The Huggable Lipcolors had mixed reviews when I looked up other blogs, so I went with a raspberry-plum shade that I know likely will work on me. It's called "Commotion".</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQsC8PDWVlxx4WDcGcqR6z4Z34Hl-D9KN8BRx-hchf8NwQkkDzUpT0geVwhcBF6L8kJsJYwTULJdbe4nycS_bbZZvdInfHRkwbcl37SBjbA2lE8hax7hyphenhyphenG2BBgv_UwEZCo67bqqny3sE/s1600/DSC_0119.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQsC8PDWVlxx4WDcGcqR6z4Z34Hl-D9KN8BRx-hchf8NwQkkDzUpT0geVwhcBF6L8kJsJYwTULJdbe4nycS_bbZZvdInfHRkwbcl37SBjbA2lE8hax7hyphenhyphenG2BBgv_UwEZCo67bqqny3sE/s320/DSC_0119.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The texture is really interesting. If I try to swipe it on my lips like any other lipstick, the bullet is "sticky" and tugs on my lips quite uncomfortably. So I found the best way to apply this is by <i>dabbing</i> rather than swiping. The result is a sheer glossy (for a lipstick) finish that fills in lines and makes my lips look plump and healthy. It lasts until I eat but leaves a light stain. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZZbqumXzJvFH9BGu6RS4GLWTNiS7_EOzgJDW20mmZ0HNXHiwf7fskSIDxU2SL90zVjtMDY2H5znyWSyQVGc-C4igfgfp8Ssbr2tL1a0dP-krKctJDZLVe5vySOI0uF1vSyZ_8fFs58us/s1600/DSC_0121.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZZbqumXzJvFH9BGu6RS4GLWTNiS7_EOzgJDW20mmZ0HNXHiwf7fskSIDxU2SL90zVjtMDY2H5znyWSyQVGc-C4igfgfp8Ssbr2tL1a0dP-krKctJDZLVe5vySOI0uF1vSyZ_8fFs58us/s320/DSC_0121.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I swatched it amongst some of my other raspberry-plums. Temptalia calls this shade "highly dupable", which is true, however the finish is unique!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBcCHNJSFRjrZM2sxayyPiVGP8dUGYpYicyYEPr_508dAzaVghDEfsoBPYePdFIobQCYM6FG1pmDn390UE_834gc-tpc1JSuxYYnLOBJslNC49jUSE5T4N0MNtbp1bHqDHrz6kupCSglM/s1600/DSC_0123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBcCHNJSFRjrZM2sxayyPiVGP8dUGYpYicyYEPr_508dAzaVghDEfsoBPYePdFIobQCYM6FG1pmDn390UE_834gc-tpc1JSuxYYnLOBJslNC49jUSE5T4N0MNtbp1bHqDHrz6kupCSglM/s320/DSC_0123.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Left to right</b>: Burberry Kisses Bright Plum (slightly more pigmented and creamy with less sheen)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
MAC Huggable Commotion (the glossiest and most tacky in feel)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Marc Jacobs Boy Gorgeous (the most pigmented and matte of these)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tom Ford Violet Fatale (the most comfortable and lightweight of all these)</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMdsEkimFdKRnp6CyoYO51qKKpocF0DkxDTV-pxNANdCKei0-p0-Ke4_8I_G_Sfu3QgC_b_gilNeIFsY9nDpzrXyuyVjwRtdHIMk6XPO2gqK7pCiZ8GvekijEgQmB56fog8v-VAlqm4Js/s1600/DSC_0124.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMdsEkimFdKRnp6CyoYO51qKKpocF0DkxDTV-pxNANdCKei0-p0-Ke4_8I_G_Sfu3QgC_b_gilNeIFsY9nDpzrXyuyVjwRtdHIMk6XPO2gqK7pCiZ8GvekijEgQmB56fog8v-VAlqm4Js/s320/DSC_0124.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Next I chose one of the Mineralize Skinfinish which I also hear a lot about. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I was very disappointed by the shipping, as it had unfortunately been knocked around and there was chunky glitter everywhere (had even escaped to the box). I was concerned this was going to end up a chunky glittery-highlighter, and I was partially right. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4F5A-5nlJWW0nkFiX_LaTMKdyoe-3vxr0CcgVYkpWSjgSjrAclHPzauDomrlSb73AZPCUTUMFv9NJcgXqqCKdIijREi-q8ibxJxRz0W_ma18fPJYj8r-SoYZOFnba8EHcwU04Dh1qp4/s1600/DSC_0126.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq4F5A-5nlJWW0nkFiX_LaTMKdyoe-3vxr0CcgVYkpWSjgSjrAclHPzauDomrlSb73AZPCUTUMFv9NJcgXqqCKdIijREi-q8ibxJxRz0W_ma18fPJYj8r-SoYZOFnba8EHcwU04Dh1qp4/s320/DSC_0126.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Presentation is gorgeous, and the sections are large enough I can use the shades separately, however I discovered that is not the best way to use this...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizEf-Kp6SjSygvT7m2H_V_Y3H0aPmSsZlzPJa8mW8WlgBiY58FLnlYHHfJo8iWzzeBCQE-IHb9Jzod5eVtieGafoU55M38wmvj80K3R8fLy-uSmSGA4OWZc2HvCdHKbOpEX9fiVsazsBg/s1600/DSC_0127.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizEf-Kp6SjSygvT7m2H_V_Y3H0aPmSsZlzPJa8mW8WlgBiY58FLnlYHHfJo8iWzzeBCQE-IHb9Jzod5eVtieGafoU55M38wmvj80K3R8fLy-uSmSGA4OWZc2HvCdHKbOpEX9fiVsazsBg/s320/DSC_0127.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
When swatched, I was not impressed...the silver and gold-bronze were super glittery and chunky, and the middle rosy shade was chalky. When I put them on my cheek separately, the 2 glittery ones looked terrible, they were hard to blend out and stuck as chunky glitter on my face. The middle shade just didn`t show on my cheeks. I was about to sigh and give up until I read from others that they like this best blended altogether. So I took a dense synthetic brush and swirled it all around. The result was...well... kind of out of this world! It`s hard to describe, altogether it looks like a rosy highlighter that is sparkly rather than glittery (sparkly in a nice way!). It isn`t subtle, but also doesn`t scream glitter like when the shades go on individually. I love it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, this has been a good first foray into MAC and I`ll definitely be picking up some more from the 30% off sale!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This the last of my KYE haul, and unfortunately is the biggest disappointment for me. I was so excited about this product, and felt like it would be a slightly-edgy-but-not-so-out-there thing to do to have dark rosy brows. The packaging is still cute, and feels nice and hefty in my hands, but that's about as far as it goes.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOA0V191NgL4IJvoNduhyMjCKolNHZUTs3t5H4WTa3JHs8dt-O1aNJ-reWib4BaAH2k3qzffGz7mnv4FTUN0WQZlHk_B7s423lf-1ulwVQupN3_PZAMG1cLIjDFoimMSlQaFiWbfoIRfk/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOA0V191NgL4IJvoNduhyMjCKolNHZUTs3t5H4WTa3JHs8dt-O1aNJ-reWib4BaAH2k3qzffGz7mnv4FTUN0WQZlHk_B7s423lf-1ulwVQupN3_PZAMG1cLIjDFoimMSlQaFiWbfoIRfk/s320/DSC_0011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It contains Cappuccino, a light grey-mauve tone, and Dark Rose, which looks so beautiful in the pan. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjGuBnM56wpODOb_eynZXuQSSRmo0TVX-iJgj8BF1ubf_WnIOcIIzOd87b6RPw5a0kOw9z4PHRXWqyvrT13Bx3-B2WVUtSe3CRt9yTqvxO_RW5kr3aydwuZmiKx7hndnOur8yntnSFZXg/s1600/DSC_0012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjGuBnM56wpODOb_eynZXuQSSRmo0TVX-iJgj8BF1ubf_WnIOcIIzOd87b6RPw5a0kOw9z4PHRXWqyvrT13Bx3-B2WVUtSe3CRt9yTqvxO_RW5kr3aydwuZmiKx7hndnOur8yntnSFZXg/s320/DSC_0012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The instructions here to use Cappuccino to draw and Dark Rose to blend, makes no sense to me. As it turns out, Cappuccino is so lacking in pigmentation that I could not get it to show up on my brows at all. Even on my arm, it look a lot of layers to even show any kind of shadow! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXaqjOvD4jaijSfGTKoSvK7JarcwHIVIfMKZy2AxvP_0DEzpOVRn69ezOdPftI8fPS5vekdwUFsrE7q7YpycYOPcFrRZggpcGI-ZmDBlwdoleeFyAHE6nSnPTLCbEuUMiM0CxmphsIzXo/s1600/DSC_0031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXaqjOvD4jaijSfGTKoSvK7JarcwHIVIfMKZy2AxvP_0DEzpOVRn69ezOdPftI8fPS5vekdwUFsrE7q7YpycYOPcFrRZggpcGI-ZmDBlwdoleeFyAHE6nSnPTLCbEuUMiM0CxmphsIzXo/s320/DSC_0031.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Dark Rose is more pigmented, so it make more sense to actually use that to "draw" my brows and then go over it with Cappuccino to blend. I really was so excited and wanting to love this, but once I finished my look, I realized the shade is exactly like those eyebrow tattoos the Asian aunties used to have, that same reddish-brown..ugh! (Sorry you might have to be Asian to understand what I'm referring to). It just made me feel old, not cool at all. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This likely will work for you if you have reddish-brown hair though!</div>

I'm ending on a down note I guess, but by far the best of the KYE collection so far for me was the <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2016/05/shu-uemura-kye-cushion-blush-hibiscus-orange-swatch-review.html" target="_blank">cushion blush</a>, second is the <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2016/05/shu-uemura-kye-sheer-color-balm-melt-in-orange-review-swatch.html" target="_blank">tinted lip balm</a>. I'm only glad I got this brow palette on sale and didn't pay the full $55 CDN for it, eeks. The KYE collection does have a indigo-blue shade in the brow sword, which I might try (no "auntie" look there) but not sure if I will end up going for it as it may be a waste of money on something I may not end up using a lot of... we will see =P</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
If I for some out-of-this-world reason, I would have to only live with one single type of makeup item, I would choose tinted lip balms. They're easy to use to brighten my lips and complexion, moisturizing, and require no effort to blend. So of course I had to pick up one of the tinted lip balms from the Shu x KYE collection!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Normally I choose "safe" colors like peach and pink, this time I thought I'd brand out a bit and try the orange. It does look shockingly orange in the tube, however I was a bit disappointed it just turned into regular peach-pink on me (both on my skin and on my lips). </div>

Despite my disappointment in this not being a very "out there" shade, I'm happy with the formula. It's thin and moisturizing, and on the glossier side. The formula reminds me most of the <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2014/04/ysl-volupte-sheer-candy-glossy-balm.html" target="_blank">YSL Candy balms</a>, which continue to be my favorite tinted lip balm line.<br />
<br />
Also, how cute is the packaging?! Not "fancy" like YSL, but makes my eyes happy when I pull it out to use :) The cap is also fairly tight so I'm not concerned about it coming off in my purse.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, this is a solid buy in the luxury tinted balms world, for $36 CDN. If you love tinted balms like I do, this is a great add to your collection! If tinted balms aren't your thing, skip this :)</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm starting off this KYE series review with my favorite product thus far. This is my first cushion blush product ever, and have to say this now my favorite form of blush!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love applying cushion BB creams, like my<a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2014/08/iope-air-cushion-xp-spf50-n21.html" target="_blank"> IOPE Air Cushion</a>, but this is even better!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBwn59mqAk7jkPhEDAlXoBJJXdCUczjwFtNjGISVjSSneDbvJz5a7vzMnqi41lAcg8mgoA3GSZeih5Xk6xLy7CCObK98rh7zeQVv8W8GUAGHe5Ao4osdilmD4yrJC4Gou3UkQCyoGNqOo/s1600/DSC_0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBwn59mqAk7jkPhEDAlXoBJJXdCUczjwFtNjGISVjSSneDbvJz5a7vzMnqi41lAcg8mgoA3GSZeih5Xk6xLy7CCObK98rh7zeQVv8W8GUAGHe5Ao4osdilmD4yrJC4Gou3UkQCyoGNqOo/s320/DSC_0025.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cute packaging aside, it's a traditional cushion packaging with a soft sponge. This is smaller than a BB cushion of course, so only 2 fingers fit on this sponge rather than 3. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV1X_mgTKgUQO0N_7oQ9oSy8prb-pFjHiX4ltKkwNY1e0QIO-UPtD_AP2CH4TVfcph-RmIbJXEtiuKcB5snB0-RbiFIo86zWDsj6wTEpf205Atbbm9upMB6tOgQh45j-fovE9lQcRMW7o/s1600/DSC_0023.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV1X_mgTKgUQO0N_7oQ9oSy8prb-pFjHiX4ltKkwNY1e0QIO-UPtD_AP2CH4TVfcph-RmIbJXEtiuKcB5snB0-RbiFIo86zWDsj6wTEpf205Atbbm9upMB6tOgQh45j-fovE9lQcRMW7o/s320/DSC_0023.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The sponge is very saturated with product, and initially I thought I was going to apply way too much. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I needn't have been concerned though, as this blush is very sheer, but buildable. I dab the sponge in the cushion then lightly tap it around my cheeks. It blends like a dream!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2_dwZYx58bx5WWP3v-Tim9ZVPyTApLHZZ48YcVw7e9MpzU0DZ6IKuXk8XQflriFC-O8SfPRV4geexXW9AaTuqkdkm0HIsyM_XH6dRTmsUJ1XOEyTKx1uCXI5IyL3QNQSTTUZ6WX2pCPQ/s1600/DSC_0024.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2_dwZYx58bx5WWP3v-Tim9ZVPyTApLHZZ48YcVw7e9MpzU0DZ6IKuXk8XQflriFC-O8SfPRV4geexXW9AaTuqkdkm0HIsyM_XH6dRTmsUJ1XOEyTKx1uCXI5IyL3QNQSTTUZ6WX2pCPQ/s320/DSC_0024.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the left is a big unblended splotch of the product, and on the right is blended out. It's subtle and very natural, of a demi-matte, non-shiny sheen. It doesn't look artificially orange, but rather warms up my cheeks almost like bronzer, though without the "tan" look. It's beautiful though I had trouble capturing my cheeks on photo with this showing up so hopefully you can trust my words and go try this out yourself! It looks even more gorgeous if you add a golden highlighter on top!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you tried a cushion blush before? It feels like a pampering spa experience for my cheeks! </div>

Shu Uemura recently had a sale, 25% off for spending over $125, which an amazing deal as Sephora's recent sad VIB sale was only 15% off. I picked up 3 pieces from the new KYE collection, collaborated with Kathleen Kye, a Korean streetwear designer. The boxes were super cute! I picked up the following:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- cushion blush </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
- brow palette</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

2014 was a stressful year that resulted in a lot of stress shopping. I recently just discovered I completely forgot to open up this beauty from the Lancome x Jason Wu collection from 2014! I remember being excited to buy this but completely forgot about it amongst the pile of other stuff I bought. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Sadly, despite much shaking, this formula is <b>toast.</b> It's consistency is unlike that of other artliners I've used in the past, and the pigmentation is patchy and impossible to even out despite my best efforts. I recall seeing gorgeous photos of this back in 2014, so my only conclusions is that I missed out on it's good days and it must have now gone "off". Sigh... oh how I wish I used and enjoyed this in 2014 when it was meant to be enjoyed!!</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I've gone crazy and purchased the most expensive shower gel ever... Actually, my reasoning was that I hear a lot of raving about Tom Ford's Oud Wood scent, and since spending $300 on a bottle of perfume seemed ridiculous, I thought I'd try out the scent on the shower gel! I've been using this for a couple of months now.</div>

As it promised, it certainly makes a nice lather and rinses cleanly, no residue-feeling. It also doesn't make me overly dry. The scent though, which is why I wanted to try this in the first place, I'm really not sure about. Scents are so personal, but this scent on some days make me go "bleh", and other days it's very pleasant, and I can't figure out why. I'm not huge on perfume so forgive me for not describing the scent very well. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
The bottle/packaging feels nice and hefty, but unfortunately is annoying in that it's just a plain twist off cap, making it that way too much product comes out each time if I"m not careful (this thing lathers very well, so only a small amount is needed). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, this is indeed a very nice shower gel, but at $77 currently on Sephora?! Needless to say I won't be repurchasing...</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm beyond excited that Sephora is now carrying Tom Ford! Only the summer collection mind you, but I detested that Holt Renfrew was the only place that carried his line before (now Saks 5th Avenue in Toronto has it as well). Nothing particular against Holt Renfrew, but it's 50/50 whether I will get good service or snooty service. So when the recent 15% off sale came, of course I had to pick up something! I don't need any more sheer lippies or tinted lip balms, so this was just a fun splurge.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I've been leaning towards a lot of berry/wine/purple shades recently, so the only shade I really gravitated towards was Otranto. The outer layer is a soft plummy/berry shade with very fine shimmer, with a centre gelly pink core. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Good sized amount of product, not really ever enough to justify the >$60 regular price tag on this, but that's not why we buy Tom Ford is it...</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here it is in comparison to a regular sized Tom Ford lippie.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2ZYT1wwuPFYoqvcJMiqSuxTPqnAkRWCsCk-4ZQt2cctjJ0zmfov76QA7bZhpznvsHyeWBdhu8OPIIqn-QzKhgh4_xt_beXywcwn3UhLTwPDcJhqXP72iG59fPLwFu_1GHvIPQAx47a64/s1600/DSC_0122.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2ZYT1wwuPFYoqvcJMiqSuxTPqnAkRWCsCk-4ZQt2cctjJ0zmfov76QA7bZhpznvsHyeWBdhu8OPIIqn-QzKhgh4_xt_beXywcwn3UhLTwPDcJhqXP72iG59fPLwFu_1GHvIPQAx47a64/s320/DSC_0122.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's a one-swipe swatch, as you can see, quite sheer. It can be built up but I don't like to put on more than one swipe. I love the sheer barely there look for summer.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY6L-_28A48WBrb6mzMQF7CVBqwz0jWFH54LCprLxB5FUONo7DnyICzth5B7SLrv0_XIe8IyG_f2e0JcYiXrlk6Uj46KpPfr5Upo9lySgGKevj39RPR871e3YsCIUFAf8nwMDP2zHvcqw/s1600/DSC_0123.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY6L-_28A48WBrb6mzMQF7CVBqwz0jWFH54LCprLxB5FUONo7DnyICzth5B7SLrv0_XIe8IyG_f2e0JcYiXrlk6Uj46KpPfr5Upo9lySgGKevj39RPR871e3YsCIUFAf8nwMDP2zHvcqw/s200/DSC_0123.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
It goes on smooth and buttery, but doesn't slip and slide around like some other buttery formulas out there. The shimmer is only noticeable close up, and I certainly can't feel it on my lips which is a plus. The smell is very subtle and not offensive.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMUQE8E2ljP1zcotCsBGWcGxJGlyNYs4tEVSRmAjvo5RbW5jijxelNt-KpyVdglQeJUBAkaan5fLkOoOWkTgy-oVCvOeUbOJV_qYB8ni3p_x7A3DOPJPv56MPS1mvk24bWa0z502sCb7E/s1600/DSC_0125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMUQE8E2ljP1zcotCsBGWcGxJGlyNYs4tEVSRmAjvo5RbW5jijxelNt-KpyVdglQeJUBAkaan5fLkOoOWkTgy-oVCvOeUbOJV_qYB8ni3p_x7A3DOPJPv56MPS1mvk24bWa0z502sCb7E/s200/DSC_0125.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
The flash really washes the shade out but it shows up like a plum in
some lighting, and leans more pinky-purple in other lighting. The centre
core gives a very subtle highlight and makes my lips look more full
right in the middle. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you tried this new line from Tom Ford? What do you think of his lippies generally? Worth the price? This is only my second, I really want more but the price does hold me back...</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Quick review today...one of the coolest lippies I've tried yet! Bite has this shade "Opal" in both lipstick and lip gloss form, meant to use as a topper for other shades. It looks white in the tube, but if you look closer it oddly looks transluscent blue-ish purple, it's hard to describe, you just have to see it in person!</div>

<br />
Firstly, this is a great formula. I know Bite recently reformulated their lipsticks in a new line which everyone is raving about, but I like this old formula. It's tacky in a good way, doesn't really budge or slip, but also not drying. I just like wearing it on it's own for a cool frosted look. Not very appropriate for the office but for fun days it gives a very cool ethereal kind of look. I'm going to be trying some different lippie combos and if I come up with anything cool will post!<br />
<br />
Have you tried Opal? The lip gloss is high reviewed as well, perhaps I will try that one day.<br />

Wow it's been a long time since my last post! I'm still using up stuff
and buying new stuff (hangs head down in shame for the past 3 Sephora
sale orders), but haven't really had the time or energy to write about
anything. I still love reading other blogs and it's been great seeing
what everyone else has been up to in the beauty world! I'm keeping to what I said in my last post, which is that no longer will I write about everything little thing I use/throw, only the stand-outs will get a mention (good or bad). Anything I don't mention means it was "meh".<br />

<br />
The <b>Caudalie</b> moisturizer with suncreen, really good stuff! The <b>Clinique black honey lip gloss</b>, terrible! I don't understand this, it goes on like a goopy dark sticky mess, that makes me look unwell.<br />
<br />

<br />
<b>Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream</b> got me through the winter, it's just amazing for dry-anything. The tube in the middle that is sooo rubbed out is the <b>Bare Escentuals Mineral Sunscreen</b>, it's sadly discontinued but it was amazing to throw in my bag and do a sunscreen touch up midday, as it powders nicely over makeup (I hate how lotion sunscreens say to reapply every 2 hours, how am I suppose to put white sticky cream over my makeup?? I do not understand...)<br />
<br />

<br />
These 3 were all terrible for me... The <b>MUFE</b> primer did nothing. The <b>Bite</b> lip agave mask was goopy and didn't really moisturize (I'd wake up in the AM with dry lips! So odd as it has good reviews from others, guess it just doesn't go well with my chemistry somehow). The <b>Clarisonic</b> cleanser was very drying and not gentle at all for me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's all for now, happy April everyone! Let me know if you have tried any of these and had a similar/different experience!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Happy New Year Everyone! I'm posting less and less these days and even didn't get around to doing my usual monthly empties, so am now combining 3 months worth. A lot has happened in 2015. There was a break in, and identity theft for the bad things. I started weight lifting with a personal trainer, and my daughter is growing and developing in the cutest way possible for the good things. I didn't make any new year resolutions really, but have come more and more to realize that what needs cherishing is the people and moments of connection in my life, not the "things". Despite that, we all do need and use "things" in our lives, and part of that is beauty products! It's just about having the right perspective... nothing wrong with enjoying that moment of glee at opening a new lipstick, but my mood shouldn't be based on whether I can get the latest limited edition product, I will enjoy and use what I have.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Along with that, blog-wise, I've decided to no longer write about the "blah", or the "meh", or the "okay" products. Time is precious, and I don't want to waste my time or yours on those, that really tell both you and I nothing, other than that I forced myself through to the end using them up for the sake of "not wasting". So for these empties, I'll show a photo of the whole load I used but I'll only discuss the products that were great and of worth to recommend, or the ones that were so dreadful that I'd recommend you avoid. The stuff in between...there's too many of those to waste time on. Perhaps in 2016 I will also waste less of my own time and face on using those products at all, and focus really on using what I love! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
First up, <b>Enkore brush soap</b>, ahhh-mazing! Highly recommend, easy to use and smells good, and gets my brushes very clean. Next, <b>Nest Orange Blossom</b> shower gel, smells oh so good and cleans without drying me out, I very much enjoyed using this up to the end! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Shu Uemura</b> <b>Anti-Oxi cleansing oil,</b> Shu's cleansing oils really live up to their hype, I really enjoyed using this and highly recommend it! It cleanses well and doesn't dry me out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrnnG60wFPlGwQrFBBvmx9w5UkmeIFLs0rGN9cODheMu2DIX7G8nk7u9w-gI_tjWz9BzzB6sdGPlKFGdETxUBbTpJqFp9TivjNjaN-p5hRCZ969CB9q2gM3nUTxX675n4gaV1PM87qYi0/s1600/DSC_0090.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrnnG60wFPlGwQrFBBvmx9w5UkmeIFLs0rGN9cODheMu2DIX7G8nk7u9w-gI_tjWz9BzzB6sdGPlKFGdETxUBbTpJqFp9TivjNjaN-p5hRCZ969CB9q2gM3nUTxX675n4gaV1PM87qYi0/s320/DSC_0090.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Hourglass Lip Treatment Oil,</b> this is my HG lip care for bedtime, it's expensive but lasted me a very long time of daily use. So good for my lips and the gold tip is very soothing. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>YSL eyebrow pencil</b> in Ash, I always come back to this. It's very natural looking and I enjoy each pencil to the last bit (they unfortunately get used up very quickly as it's a soft pencil). </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Benefit They're Real Mascara</b>, defines and lengthens without smudging, and is easy to remove, my HG mascara. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's all for now. I don't know when I'll post next but it'll only be for a product I really really love and will use daily. I wish you all a very blessed 2016! Share with me any reflections you had from 2015 and any beauty resolutions you may have made :) </div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbCn2q0t-kbFw2_k70SrW_b6hNPjEwR9C7dj7b6SZwXtGyb5rQC89oD01IfBuESFGg-E5x3XZ_vdO0KUNgTj8iBYFxZZjWd6oRacfbWFNsniZj4PGpWL3LkzIbyS4rbMCoGHOK1AVGLZc/s1600/DSC_0093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbCn2q0t-kbFw2_k70SrW_b6hNPjEwR9C7dj7b6SZwXtGyb5rQC89oD01IfBuESFGg-E5x3XZ_vdO0KUNgTj8iBYFxZZjWd6oRacfbWFNsniZj4PGpWL3LkzIbyS4rbMCoGHOK1AVGLZc/s320/DSC_0093.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I love colored mascara, but they have always disappointed me because my lashes are black, and the color never shows up. Beautiful in the tube, and nothing special on my lashes. There once was a Elizabeth Arden blue mascara that showed up in the sun, that was special...until now!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ciate is a nailpolish brand, not sure why they made mascara, but I'm sure glad they did! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOi2Ou2XaYtshyczRMYQ7Zll91uzQwK3xXs3dQaQE7ZopOf4CxYpxj94_EHRYRxpU_82a2ng3g5DhNaB5AOzlTpYAnPmXsnnXGTAUSSQyA70up74P0Wiq19F5TXwUX0Ex0JBEdM4atmZg/s1600/DSC_0094.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOi2Ou2XaYtshyczRMYQ7Zll91uzQwK3xXs3dQaQE7ZopOf4CxYpxj94_EHRYRxpU_82a2ng3g5DhNaB5AOzlTpYAnPmXsnnXGTAUSSQyA70up74P0Wiq19F5TXwUX0Ex0JBEdM4atmZg/s320/DSC_0094.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The applicator is a comb, rather than a brush. You comb this through your lashes AFTER putting your regular black mascara on (maybe this was what I was supposed to do with all those other colored mascaras that didn't work? Ah but they never instructed me to do that...)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir9OmGt46h1IvWuzeYsXF9vHOALfwKy0XHC_WfHEaiApnShdgLpvrLDMl8AhPRTK-lR4K8_oyE5lwRGpCGGgQmM22dctZ4sfw3r_bE7Jr9_yLr767qIpndmE65YBqOkKNPcH1otdMSOPs/s1600/ciate+green2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="179" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir9OmGt46h1IvWuzeYsXF9vHOALfwKy0XHC_WfHEaiApnShdgLpvrLDMl8AhPRTK-lR4K8_oyE5lwRGpCGGgQmM22dctZ4sfw3r_bE7Jr9_yLr767qIpndmE65YBqOkKNPcH1otdMSOPs/s320/ciate+green2.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't need to say anymore...this photo somehow looks photoshopped to me, like I drew green lines on my lashes. Except I don't know how to use photoshop so this mascara is just plain awesome...<br />
<br />
Oh, and it doesn't smudge, and removes well with the bi-phasic stuff. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Do you have a favorite colored mascara that actually shows up on dark lashes? If you didn't before you do now :)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Wow I've been terrible with blogging recently...I'm not tired or bored of the blog, nor do I have writer's block, but have just been really busy with keeping up with family and work. I had also been on a "beauty no-buy" period for a few months that has now been broken thanks to Sephora's annual 20% off sale (I can't resist a sale...). Before any haul posts that start up, I really want to first share this lovely lippie I've been using day-to-day. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
It's my first Burberry Kisses (or any Burberry lippie)! It's actually a mini size as well, that I was given by the salesguy at Nordstrom in Ottawa. I was there with a friend and helped her pick out a gift for her aunt, and then he gave BOTH of us one of these mini lippies and a deluxe size Fresh Glow (Sephora should learn something from them...this is how you treat customers! Not with #epicfails...and yet I still got sucked in by the sale, sigh me...). <br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The texture is super smooth, and dries down semi-matte. It sets so nicely it doesn't actually "feel" like I have something on my lips. It's of course not moisturizing like my favorite tinted lip balms, but it's not drying either and it doesn't make my lips peel, so yay!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm starting to really love this brand (and looking forward to Nordstrom opening up in Toronto soon and giving The Bay/Sephora/Holts some serious competition in the beauty department!)</div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
Have you tried Burberry Kisses line of lipsticks? What's your favorite shade?</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Daiso has awesome things... if you love face masks like I do, you probably dislike all the wasted fluid in the pouch afterwards! I had previously been using the left over fluid on my body, but this nifty pack lets you do another mask!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
It comes with a tray with a well to put the leftover fluid in, and 10 dry packed masks. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Instructions say you need about 5 mL of mask fluid, which I find is just about all that's left in the bag. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sorry this is a terrible photo, but you get the idea, it's a mask. I do find it doesn't stick as well to my face as the original, since the mask is not made out of the same material. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another idea is you can make your own mask fluid to use with these! Perhaps some combo of oils and water and glycerin... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What will Daiso have next...I can't wait to go back and visit again!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Wow this is incredibly late post...so late that it felt like I could have just waited until end of this month...but the OCD part of me still wants one of these posts per month so here we go :)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Bioderma Sensibio - </b>I don't think I need to say more, pretty good stuff that I will repurchase</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>YSL babydoll mascara</b> - this was a very very good mascara, volume and length without clumpiness, yay! Won't purchase for now though as I still have hoards of mascara samples to go through...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Clinique eye makeup remover</b> - it's good, not as good as my Lancome fave, so won't be purchasing full size</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer</b> - I really like this formula for application, but it oxidizes to no end, and though the shade is too light going on, it's way too dark in an hour. Definitely won't purchase full size.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Face Shop Seaweed Moisture Mask</b> - I was very impressed by this, it's a light gel-like formula, that sits on top the skin. It really helped with my dry patches!</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<b>Jack black lip balm</b> - it's good, but not exciting. This is a declutter as it's expired, not nearly emptied enough.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I've been trying a lot of new products recently from my own stash (I sadly bought a bunch of things over the past year and never got around to even opening them), and though I've been taking photos, I've been feeling lazy to write the posts to go with them...hope I will get out of this funk soon as I really do enjoy writing. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finally cracked... all the reading of bloggers that love Chanel have led me to make a couple of purchases as my first foray into this line. I tried not to expect too much, but I did, and I was thoroughly impressed with one, and half let down by the other. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGQeE52AAYE2h7RqFt7v1-He7muxsUl2kxQOQXQ5PaEgTW6R7QV8LTiYDK-UxI0DpiR_eJplVRiNH71Rc59vv487MeZhekoGwNv9pZZWGjpiMllOhBYkCRkeoyvb6KQeOehHelmHuKAJc/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGQeE52AAYE2h7RqFt7v1-He7muxsUl2kxQOQXQ5PaEgTW6R7QV8LTiYDK-UxI0DpiR_eJplVRiNH71Rc59vv487MeZhekoGwNv9pZZWGjpiMllOhBYkCRkeoyvb6KQeOehHelmHuKAJc/s320/DSC_0011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The first purchase was a tinted lip balm. Of course I started with that, it's my favorite type of lippie! First all, the packaging did not disappoint...it looks like it'd feel like the cheap black plastic that some other high-end lippies come in, but nope, it's not. It's hefty and weighty and feels luxurious to hold. The design is also simple and elegant. I love it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Unfortunately it went downhill from here...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">with direct flash - Chanel lip balm on the left, next to YSL candy balm in Tangerine on the right</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let's talk about the formula first. The formula really wasn't bad. It's not one of those heavy sticky/thick balms, it's rather light and weightless. It does moisturize my lips, however not greatly so. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdYLqZTEqTCVaCwjavPI4SWCXVKsgqCtT1QgmQRRp5bTbDrJ-of7iI-TQwHdRyabGn8LOin1B1sFbsu4oC0Mxh5ZxHceT4p-WrQnhBnt4UYarT2BMGzeyAIwZIMoM8zatND_bBW1E8jg/s1600/DSC_0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdYLqZTEqTCVaCwjavPI4SWCXVKsgqCtT1QgmQRRp5bTbDrJ-of7iI-TQwHdRyabGn8LOin1B1sFbsu4oC0Mxh5ZxHceT4p-WrQnhBnt4UYarT2BMGzeyAIwZIMoM8zatND_bBW1E8jg/s320/DSC_0015.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">bounced flash</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Ok onto where I became disappointed...the shade...on my arm it actually doesn't show up much at all, so I thought, well worst come to worst it's like a non-tinted lip balm...I wish that were actually the case, as actually this shade does layer up on my lips, and layers up to a very sickly shade on me. I feel like this shade will suit middle-aged pale caucasian ladies perhaps, but not me...It's so disturbing I didn't want to take a lip swatch photo. I am actually really sad about this, as the packaging I adore, the formula is definitely good enough, but oh why couldn't they come out with a more red/berry shade :( </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfWNU9rAGe4JdWbCbuxFNR6Ajqj9TCYyDyZT0B_wm-02hpgpia2rq318xVeWbHMc4VY3_0UxsWLNFClsr3Mw8wstJQhjwZens4zT7Z1y7slJD_hw3cIjeOi9WEaU-r7y6395jOj_ztWMA/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfWNU9rAGe4JdWbCbuxFNR6Ajqj9TCYyDyZT0B_wm-02hpgpia2rq318xVeWbHMc4VY3_0UxsWLNFClsr3Mw8wstJQhjwZens4zT7Z1y7slJD_hw3cIjeOi9WEaU-r7y6395jOj_ztWMA/s320/DSC_0016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Alright, now onto happier things. The Perle de Lune waterproof stylo... I have been wearing this non-stop and it is such a cool and interesting shade! It also smudges only minimally on my lower lid by the end of night, which happens with the best of my eyeliners so I'm fine with that. It's a soft formula that doesn't tug on my lids and sets fairly quickly. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8fXLmTmZKbNEmhhYQTMKeSKMducV0wA7CL6JU0KINyyBanEIT3JmWy6PRRA42U5C8WULlS7dVGc7boHnb1Pb3tFKHUwOQwejaKn0R3V3yOcPktah5fzMX8YEdbh0W_56JmEGOkLCv9gQ/s1600/DSC_0018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8fXLmTmZKbNEmhhYQTMKeSKMducV0wA7CL6JU0KINyyBanEIT3JmWy6PRRA42U5C8WULlS7dVGc7boHnb1Pb3tFKHUwOQwejaKn0R3V3yOcPktah5fzMX8YEdbh0W_56JmEGOkLCv9gQ/s320/DSC_0018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's a twist up style and comes with a sharpener too, though I've not had to use it as I find it wears down fine enough, as with this shade I don't feel the need to draw a super thin line. </div>

I guess I would describe this shade as a pearly warm taupey-silver, with complex shimmer. It's super brightening and natural at the same time when used alone. You can also use this above your black eyeliner to amp up the look and add some some extra oomph to your liner. </div>

Overall, I'm impressed by Chanel. I've never seen an eyeliner quite like this, and am so glad to have this in my collection. As for the lip balm, I'm impressed by the packaging, enough that I will go seek out another lippie, probably in the actual lipstick line so I can get a shade that suits me. </div>

Chanel fans, please let me know your recommendations for lippie shades or what other Chanel product I should try out next? Thanks in advance!</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I've been a long faithful user of Duo, but recently I got enticed by Velour's eyelash glue, which come in these twist ups that remind me of lip glosses. What a mistake... <br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitlWplXr_afCOEm-6JgLOrK97L4ypsMEDY5H5o4y4Eyun41e5EljOYHr9ycU4XeqtlAekn46hsVvNzZGQec_nn25S_iloDMFMURST4ojMPvNI0DiAGMxKS9Up5fZi8Asz2nXT9UcSe6mo/s1600/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitlWplXr_afCOEm-6JgLOrK97L4ypsMEDY5H5o4y4Eyun41e5EljOYHr9ycU4XeqtlAekn46hsVvNzZGQec_nn25S_iloDMFMURST4ojMPvNI0DiAGMxKS9Up5fZi8Asz2nXT9UcSe6mo/s320/DSC_0003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
So the first use was fine...except the tip was hard to wipe off clean after...<br />

<br />
This is the glob that needs to be wiped off, which I did eventually with a makeup wipe. Regular tissue didn't work because the fibres stuck on to the silicone tip. I wiped off very cleanly, with nothing visible left behind...<br />
<br />
Next time I try to use it though, I twist and twist...and twist and twist... and nothing is coming out...how odd...then suddenly...<br />

<br />
No, that is not mold on my ceiling...that is black eyelash glue...on my CEILING! The thing was just building pressure under whatever bit of glue dried up in the tip, and EXPLODED onto my ceiling, and across my entire bathroom vanity! Luckily it was not terribly difficult to wipe up once the glue dries, but it was everywhere...<br />
<br />
Lessons:<br />
1) do not keep twisting up if nothing is coming out...<br />
2) always wipe up eyelash glue AFTER it dries<br />
3) Duo is still the best... (unless you're allergic to latex, then I recommend the MUFE glue in the tiny bottle that comes with their lashes, too bad that doesn't sell individually...)<br />
<br />
Have you had any makeup-related explosions? What was your worst? Describe me all the clean up details too...:) I needed to dig up a tall step ladder from deep within the labyrinth of my garage to get to my ceiling.Meikohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07406876610192117051noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2264134359023972333.post-69820204458862418842015-09-08T22:17:00.000-07:002015-09-08T22:17:30.351-07:00August 2015: Empties + Decluterries<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I realized that more and more of my empties posts contain products that I was just chucking out, which kind of clouds the point of empties (the point being to have a final say on a product that has been completely used up, which by then says more about it than my initial "omg I LOVE this!"). So I'm now going to do these posts in 2 sections. Click the jump if you're interested in my garbage from August! (ok that sounds terrible...but hopefully you are still interested...)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I've not stopped loving my YSL Ash, but it is fun to try out new brow products! This is one of the first products from Burberry I've tried, and after a few months now of using this side by side with the <a href="http://naturallybeautifulreviews.blogspot.ca/2015/04/shu-uemura-eyebrow-pencil-hard-formula.html" target="_blank">Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil in Stone Gray</a>, I love it! Is it possible that I simultaneously love the YSL, Shu, and this?! Yup... I can't decide which is my favorite anymore...</div>

Burberry unfortunately doesn't make a grey-toned shade like YSL and Shu, but from reading reviews online I gathered this "Ash Brown" would work for me. </div>

Next to YSL, you can see the shade is actually very similar (and very similar to the Shu but for some reason I didn't think to swatch all 3). Only difference is YSL has the fine shimmer (no other brow product I've tried has it, and it's only visible with flash, not in person, oh I guess YSL still wins in this regard...)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Overall, I'm happy with this product! Really nothing wrong with it, you can go light, or can draw heavier strokes and make yourself a heavier brow if you prefer. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This was a great intro for me to the world of Burberry cosmetics, and I will be looking forward to picking up more products from them!</div>

What's your favorite brow product recently? Do you always stick to one thing or change it up?</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Wow I'm very late this month for empties. I've been having a "blah" makeup month, unmotivated to try things or blog about them. I've only been wearing bases, and even skipping highlighter/blush on some days because I feel so blah. Must be some kind of cosmetic depression after my massive hauls fews months back (I will get to those products...), does this ever happen to you? Anyhow, I did manage to finish a bunch of deluxe samples (and tossing out some) so thought this would kick my beauty brain back into gear. </div>

Coconut water shampoo and conditioner, it worked well, but I wasn't wowed. </div>

<b>Shiseido Benefiance</b> day and night lotions. The day one has SPF18. Now this was good stuff. Made my skin look nice and smooth. I wish the SPF was a bit higher though. Don't be fooled by these little sample bottles these lasted me more than a month of daily use!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOjlXv80xsTL2j2QysGDmyfhyphenhyphen2ZrGZ-GoU05g0tEBnM-r2S5a8TXvmW7-GNGxFrcKDAcEH5ktZaD8ln8-SM_3gi2VuFG5mkxvdFLiKeILb0YO18jhoahfVXGDg-xNzx3S9lrtZpP7BCA/s1600/DSC_0004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiOjlXv80xsTL2j2QysGDmyfhyphenhyphen2ZrGZ-GoU05g0tEBnM-r2S5a8TXvmW7-GNGxFrcKDAcEH5ktZaD8ln8-SM_3gi2VuFG5mkxvdFLiKeILb0YO18jhoahfVXGDg-xNzx3S9lrtZpP7BCA/s200/DSC_0004.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<b>Ojon rare blend</b>. This works well to smooth out and shine out my hair, but I have to be careful to put only a VERY small amount. If I go over board even a little I will look like a slicky oily mess.<br />
<b>L'Occitane almond shower</b>, this is the second deluxe sample bottle, it's good stuff. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8inxR66v1jt54ovWp4EmrdlJizp4goS1qSIoelUfAK-jnEbtp_G8Cyd28YlVQmuiUiv0uwi8rKGuO2wKpdVUWGhPapTQKfThY5yRlV6N8I90xu5KGwBIlQccA26sL9LR5HgHK573n1d0/s1600/DSC_0005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8inxR66v1jt54ovWp4EmrdlJizp4goS1qSIoelUfAK-jnEbtp_G8Cyd28YlVQmuiUiv0uwi8rKGuO2wKpdVUWGhPapTQKfThY5yRlV6N8I90xu5KGwBIlQccA26sL9LR5HgHK573n1d0/s200/DSC_0005.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<b>Reversa</b> micellar water. This was no competition for Bioderma. It was basically working as a toner, does not remove makeup well at all.<br />
<b>Skindinavian</b> finishing spray. I have multiple bottles of multiple formulations of this, it works very well to set my makeup all day, even in hot humid Toronto. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRPismQpiSjXlEF_sJaMrb_oys3gzMZz_deU8_sssrsSZA2iZ2ggzbhcs0noQDgXKx3UBgRiW9Q-Gt5IfYrCnZUAATldCI_4TG5g5znZHg4AfV0x__wXv6PXxr9_ef4Hgu35riFumgN5Y/s1600/DSC_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="132" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRPismQpiSjXlEF_sJaMrb_oys3gzMZz_deU8_sssrsSZA2iZ2ggzbhcs0noQDgXKx3UBgRiW9Q-Gt5IfYrCnZUAATldCI_4TG5g5znZHg4AfV0x__wXv6PXxr9_ef4Hgu35riFumgN5Y/s200/DSC_0006.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<b>3lab</b> "perfect lips", how about <b>perfectly useless</b>. I've never been so disappointed in such a high end (or just highly priced) product before. This made my lips peel in the winter and in the summer was just barely tolerable. Why I continued for 2 years...only cuz it was so expensive. I've not finished this, but it's as good as gone to me. Good bye and will never repurchase (this has turned me off to 3lab and their too-high-priced skincare in general).<br />
<br />
<b>Shu uemura</b> lip gloss. Now this was just a deluxe sample, but it was BAD. It smelled heavily like chemicals. Can someone who uses Shu regularly tell me if this is true of all their lipglosses or did I just get a bad one? It didn't even look that good, just like an ol' pink lipgloss. Disappointed for sure.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTDL10ocDIrKRzqPcc_8dVULeRQY7Mot9XuK_UnjO7On3MeBGYSw2tL51tjeupQeva4G8KC9z8gkAN6soTGZlTw62a7wDNvmRK0sj_H2OWFdwqoZ1IIuey-UgS1tfnsGhEaZ_Ob9QheSU/s1600/DSC_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="131" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTDL10ocDIrKRzqPcc_8dVULeRQY7Mot9XuK_UnjO7On3MeBGYSw2tL51tjeupQeva4G8KC9z8gkAN6soTGZlTw62a7wDNvmRK0sj_H2OWFdwqoZ1IIuey-UgS1tfnsGhEaZ_Ob9QheSU/s200/DSC_0007.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
<b>Estee Lauder</b> makeup remover lotion. This was a bit of an odd product, consistency of a moisturizer, smear it on and wipe off with the makeup. It does work, but I think I prefer cleansing oils over this.<br />
<br />
<b>Clinique </b>gentle liquid soap. This does what it says, it's gentle and foams and washes your face. Again, nothing to write home about and I keep getting samples so probably will never purchase full size.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
My tone has been very negative eh this whole post...perhaps I need to go stash shopping and find something that excites me again :)</div>

You know when good friends bring you something like this all the way from Asia, that said friends really get you (at least in terms of my makeup interests...). cle de peau is one of those luxe brands that I've not gone near myself for fear I'd love it and my wallet would in turn hate it.</div>

This quad is actually almost a year old now, but it's taken me this long to review because I have only been using it on special occasions. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
As with any other luxe brands, it comes with a soft velvety pouch to protect the compact. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The compact itself is simple and minimalistic, with the tiny logo in the corner (I like this kind of style, no need for a big loud logo for me). </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
cle de peau sells the actual eyeshadow apart from the compact. To save money, you could just buy the shadow and use it out of the plastic packaging (oh but that would defeat the purpose of such a product as this...and of all these photos of the compact I just showed you!). The compact also comes with the standard sponge-tip and mini-brush applicators. I typically use my own brushes so can't comment on how useful these are (I imagine I might use them if I took this palette travelling, as I hate to travel with full size brushes). </div>

They pop easily into the compact, and also pop out easily enough if you want to change up the palette or if you run out and want to replace (has anyone actually used up a whole eye shadow palette? I've never...)</div>

Here are the shadows swatched in the same order as the palette. These shades are of sheer-moderate pigmentation (it took a few swipes to build up to this intensity in the swatches). They're of satin-shimmery nature, and how shimmery they look depend on the lighting. The shimmer is very fine though and there is nearly zero-fallout. </div>

These blend like a dream on the eyes, with simple brush strokes they nearly blend themselves. Oh and there is no creasing without a primer! My lids aren't as oily as they used to be though so this may not be the case for you. Below is a look I used on one occasion:</div>

I'm liking things more sheer and subtle these days, so I went from light to </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
dark starting from my inner corner and blended everything out.Although these shadows can build up, I prefer them sheer.</div>

Combo-ed with a pair of half-falsies and thin eyeliner, it came out to a very natural and brightening eye-look. </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
This is by far now my favorite eyeshadow palette now for a natural look that isn't flat and really helps to make my eyes pop without a huge pop of color. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you prefer very pigmented shadows though, you may not like this as the amount of building up needed may annoy you, but if you like sheer washes of color that blend like a dream, with a luxe package to boot, you should give this a try! Just be aware this isn't wallet friendly...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What do you think of cle de peau? Any other products from them I should try? (other than their infamous concealer...)</div>
